This seems obvious, but I am just asking to be sure. This form of travel would allow us to travel great distances but the cost would be that we are also traveling to the far future at the same time. There would be no return trip and the people we knew at the start of the trip would be long gone after just a few seconds in the warp field. This seems to make sense by the current laws of physics. Just nothing like our Star Trek or other hyperdrive type stories. At least for now.
